On April 23-24, 2010 SMA Kanisius (Kanisius Senior High School) will again be presenting  CANISIUS ART BLAST IV. Canisius art blast is a cultural art consisting of English musical play performance, painting and photography exhibitions. For the English play Kanisius works together with SMA Sang Timur, West Jakarta and  SMA St Theresia, Central Jakarta.
The CANISIUS ART BLAST IV is expected to develop the students’ and people’s appreciation and love for art. SMA Kanisius hopes that many will actively involve and get as much benefit as they can from this cultural program.

Education at SMA Kanisius is to shape the students to be integrated and independent personality. The three Cs spirit Competence, Conscience and Compassion is continuously applied inside and outside classes. The students’ intellectual excellence is continuously  processed without leaving the other human natures; conscience ,tactfulness, humility and compassion. The training of the head and that of the heart goes hand in hand, in balanced proportion. One form of the sensitivity (the feeling) takes shape in art activity. This art activity is expected  to train the students’ understanding, tact and compassion for others.
To give an umbrella for the art appreciation and atmosphere to the students SMA Kanisius is organizing CANISIUS ART BLAST IV, which is a series of activities  for art appreciation such as acting, music, choir, photography and painting. All these will take shape to the performance of “OLIVER !”, the English musical play, and photography and painting exhibitions..
CANISIUS ART BLAST is Kanisius program and it has taken place once in three years. CANISIUS ART BLAST  I “THE SOUND Of MUSIC”  (2001), CANISIUS ART BLAST II “JESUS CHRIST SUPER STAR” (2004)  CANISIUS ART BLAST III  “GREACE”(2006). The first three CANISIUS ART BLASTS  were positively responded by the students, parents and others.
This is the appreciation of Kanisius, as an educational institution, to the students as  its responsibility  to shape them to be  integrated, excellent and independent personality.
