1952-1967 Period

During 1952-1953. Canisius`s target of education was surer and had found its way. In 1952, Canisius opened Junior High and Senior High,JBS was also still there, although only for a time while transitioning. At this time, the Director of Junior High and Senior High was held by Father Krekelberg SJ ( now Father Kiswara SJ). During 1953-1954, Father H.Vroom SJ was rector, and then was succeeded by J.V Waijenburg until 1960.

For 15 years (1952-1967), Both Junior High and Senior High Canisius reached the 90%-100% level for graduation in National Final Exam. In 1962 Canisius was entrusted to open experimental class A and C. to fulfill P&K`s law, Mr.Sutaryo Komara B.Sc was appointed as Vice Director of Senior High, because Canisius Senior High Class was more than twelve. Since August 1st 1964 Father C.J.M Jeuken S.K became director of Junior High-Senior High replacing Father Krekelberg SJ. He brought four changes such as the adding of programs in Senior High to four: Culture, Social Studies, Social-science and Science.

To strengthen relation with other school and the alumni, friendly sport competitions and also PORASKA(Competition between Catholic School) was held. These competitions involve men as well as women, so Canisius worked together with Saint Ursula and Saint Theresia Senior High. Art activities which had been vacuumed up were also resurrected during this period with the Art Evening Choir 1967 together with Theresia and Ursula Senior High.

Scout activity was started in 1982 and was able to achieve first place in a short period. Camping was held almost every holiday with a lot numbers of students. PPSK (Catholic School Student Union) is the pioneer for OSIS in future time, where the Canisius branch was quite active during the 1952-1967 period. PPSK CC was also involved in the sweeping of PKI. In march 1966 CC was even involved in patrols in school with weapons lent by ABRI-member parents, and the education process continued as usual.

Another activity that deserves attention is the amateur radio station “PEMANCAR KANISIUS”. In the position of Rector, Father Pollman SJ replaced Father Weijenburg SJ and was later replaced by Father Ingen-Housz SJ for the 1962-1967 periods.
