1997-2002 Period

Academic year 1997/1998 became the last P4 program. This program was replaced by MOS(Freshment Orientary Day). But “Percasis” still continues as an acquaintanceship facility of the freshmen, in Junior High and in Senior High. In 1997, Junior High principal changed, Father Arko was placed by Mr.A.J.Djuwarta who had worked in Canisius College for a long time.

Year 1997 was also the beginning of Indonesia economic crisis and caused price of food and drinks sold in canteen soared. Then, students of Canisius Senior High made a new extracurricular SOCIUS (Solidarity of Canisius), a CC social team who cares to the condition of Indonesians. Socius seems as a realization of our motto, Mand for and With Others, In the beginning of year 1998, politic situation in Indonesia started to become uncertain, and so also the security condition in Jakarta. Even when the May 1998 riot occurred, students who were taking EBTANAS had to stay in school. In year of 1999, Canisius`s Chapel was renovated and enlarged the seat capacity.

Since year 2000 the new rule has been regulated, students who was “caught” cheating were going to get Drop Out. This rule was opposed by CC students by demonstrated in Canisius College`s area, with silent action and oration. High official turnover happened in year of 2001, where Father E.Baskoro Poedjinoegroho S.J. became a senior High School Headmaster replaced Father R.B. Riyo Mursanto,S.J. who became a rector. Than as a Senior High School Moderator is Father J.Moerti Yoedho Koesoemo, S.J. who was the moderator in De Brito College. In Junior High School, the old headmaster, Mr.A.J.Djuwarta was replace by Bruder Iustinus Triyono, S.J. and Father Guido Chrisna Hidayat, S.J. became the Moderator. With this mutation, for the first time CC had a complete component of school managements, without any double position official.
