2002 - 2006 Period

This period is the glorious period of sports in CC. Winner in Soccer, basketball, volley, and tennis table were often achieved by CC team. In this period CC CUP transformed into Central Cup 2000( cooperate with St Ursula and St Theresia),then transformed again into Cardinal Cup 2001 (teamwork of 7 schools), and returned again into CC CUP 2002. Student`s art activity showed significant improvement in this period. In teaterical, CC had performed English musical teater “The Sound of Music”(2001). This event was a collaboration between CC and Sanur, and the succesment of this event has become a new break-through for the next generations. Where, in the next year, Canisius College together with Theresia High School presented a bradway musical drama “The West Side Story”,also in English, as a part of Canisius Art Blast.

To support competence, several students established CEF/ Canisius English Forum- a discussion group which gives training in debate, speech and story-telling in English. The new extracurricular Canisius Red Cross (CRC) started to make its development; it is the same with KISS CC (then its become Canisius Science Club) which has done a lot of scientific experiments.

The year 2002 was a very busy one because Canisius College was celebrating its 75th anniversary. In the spirit of celebrating this event, a “Direktori Alumni Kanisius Jakarta” book was written. Other than that, there was also City Fun Walk (September 2001),Canisius Golf Tournament and a grand reunion at August 10th 2002. In 2004, the second Canisius Art Blast which performing musical drama “Jesus Christ Superstar” (the collaboration between Canisius and St. Ursula senior high school) was held. Since then, Canisius Art Blast has become a biennially school event. In this year, Canisius Wind Ensemble, a prestigious orchestra extracurricular, was invited to perform in a banquet night at Istana Negara on August 17th which was attended by Megawati, former president of Indonesia.

In 2005, foreign culture named break-dance developed and many students interested to learn it. Therefore, Canisius provided a place for these breakers named Canibreak. In the new teaching period, Canisius rebuilt its barren soccer field. In 6 months, it became a green field surrounded by running tracks.

In April 2006, Canisius held an Eating Fruit and Vegetable event. MURI (Indonesian Record Museum) was invited to log the record in which 1223 people were involved in eating fruit and vegetables simultaneously. This event was also attended by many celebrities and guests such as W.S. Rendra, Indonesian renowned poet, and Olga Lydia, a female model acting as a moderator in this event.
