Canicomp or Canisius Computer Club is a place where IT-lovers from Canisius get to gather. Established on October 28th, 1990, the club was built purely on passion alone. The club’s first computer was a donation from one of the member who won a competition.

Canicomp has a motto technology support us to be a solid community” which means that computers aren’t the most essential aspect in the organization; it is brotherhood and friendship.

Currently Canicomp has 3 division. Those division are: Competition Division (Programming), Technical Division, and Web Developer Division. Although the organization seems to be divided, it is actually a one single body that need each other in certain projects.

The Competition Division is a division that is solely made for programming competition. The members are trained to familiarized with Pascal, C++, and other programming languages that were used in numerous competition both locally to the global level.

The Technical Division aims itself on learning the technical aspect of a computer. This division train its members to be able to build PCs, handle (troubleshooting) both hardware and software problems, and build computer networks (LAN).

Meanwhle, the Web Developer Division devoted itself to learn how to build a good-looking and efficient website in a way to address information accurately. The group doesn’t limit itself to design a static web page, it also has the ability to make dynamic web pages with either PHP or Database.

The three division at the High School’s Computer Lab. on Saturdays after school and at classrooms on any other days. Upon learning, the instructors are the students who had the competence on their respective area. Members of Canicomp that was already under training for a certain period of time might be an instructor. Therefore, Canicomp depend solely on its regeneration to survive.

Achievement is not a property of Competition Division only, Technical Division and Web Developer Division also gained some achievement. A few achievement by Canicomp members are:
From 2003 to 2007, Canicomp members consistently scoring gold medals from Computer in the National Science Olympic
Won multiple national programming competitions including: Bina Nusantara Programming Contest, Kompetisi Pemrograman UNPAR, Compweek UI, Computer Competition @ Gonzaga, Pesta Sains IPB, Programming and Logic UPH and more.
Won national Web Designing competitions : Computer Competition @ Gonzaga bidang web design and Lomba Komputer Nasional.
Participated in PC building competition such as IPEKA Computer Competition.
Scored 2 Bronze medals at the International Olym piad in Informatics 2007 event in Croatia.
Scored a gold medal from the same event in South Africa in 1997. The gold medal was the only gold medal won by the Indonesia team in that event until now.

Apart from that, Cacicomp was involved in numerous other activities including the making of Canisius’ School Profile VCD titled “Canisius College - a brief tour”, assisting the TOEFL Simulation for 2006 and 2007 Education Fair, and acting as Technical Support in the 2007 Canisius Science and Art Competition event. The most delightful was the completion of Canisius College High Schools’ Official Website (www.kanisius.edu) that was built purely by the strength and sweat of the Web Developer Division of Canicomp, without any aid from foreign sources.
