The Sachristian boys is one of the various extracuricullars in Canisius which involves junior and senior high school students. For the Junior High, this extracurricular has been formed since several years ago, but in the Senior High, this extracurricular has reached its third year.
In 2007-2008, Father Eko Budi Santoso, SJ has guided this extracurricular and Benedictus Wishnu from the Junior High has been chosen as leader. Its activity demand the sachristian boys always be trained theorically and practically to serve the mass well. The system of teaching is being the well-experienced ones helping the newcomers. No seniority is involved in this extracurricular.
Besides that, there are interminent religious meetings and gatherings after the mass, because the sachristian boys are required to be responsible and to have good relationships among each other. In accordance to that, it annually holds a recollection, where the sachristian boys relieve their stress while also gaining pertinent education and motivations.
At this moment, this extracurricular is still seeking for new members. Sincere perserverance and compassion towards God and human beings are always welcomed. Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam.
